 I died quietly,

painfully. 

A death no one grieved 

because I kept breathing,

and breathing looks a lot like living 

if you're not paying attention.

I love you, I’m sorry.

My mind says,

I don't want us to meet again.

I don't want to hear your name.

Even if we become the best versions of ourselves, I never want our paths to cross.

My mind says,

You left a wound too deep to heal.

You are a memory I should bury, a chapter I must never open again.

A mind full of hate, a heart full of love.

And they tear me apart, 

pulling me in opposite directions.

My heart remembers,

the night I cried until breath betrayed me, 

the emptiness you carved,

the ache that still lingers in every corner.

And so I live divided…

a mind that wants to forget,

A heart that never will.

To hate and love the same person, all at once,

isn't it a cruel, beautiful feeling?

Or is it simply.

that I love you, and that 

is why I hate you?
